Dr. Daniel Bose
I started my lab at Sheffield in March 2017. Before moving to Sheffield, I worked as a Post-doc in Prof. Shelley Berger’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and with Prof Xiaodong Zhang and Prof. Dale Wigley at Imperial College London.
I was awarded a Sir Henry Dale Research Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society in 2018.

Dr. Katie Gelder
I started my PhD in the Bose Lab in October 2019, and graduated in February 2024 before starting my postdoc. Previously, I completed an Integrated Master’s degree at the University of Sheffield studying Biochemistry and Genetics. As part of my Master’s year I completed a year in industry working at Eli Lilly, researching Alzheimer’s disease. I also previously undertook a summer research project at the University of Sheffield Medical School working with Professor Endre Kiss-Toth studying immunology.

Laura Harrison
I joined the Bose lab in October 2020 as a PhD student. Previously, I completed a BSc in Biochemistry and Genetics and an MSc in Human and Molecular Genetics at the University of Sheffield. During my MSc I studied the role of RNA-binding proteins in motor neurone disease and undertook a work placement in the oncology department at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a laboratory technician at the University of Surrey.

2023-present: I joined the Bose lab in October 2023 to complete my 4th Year MBiolSci extended lab project.
Dr. Nicola Carruthers
I joined the Bose lab in October 2019 as a PhD student and graduated in September 2023, before starting my postdoc. Before this I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Genetics, here in Sheffield. For my third year project I worked in Dr. Ewald Hettema’s lab where I studied protein orthologs in yeast.
